Dominik Haase

Dominik Haase is the Head of Rigging and Creature FX at MR. X, where he brings together both creative artistry and technical precision to breathe life into characters and creatures. After graduating in 2019, Dominik began his career at MR. X as a Rigging Artist. When the department later split into Rigging and Creature FX (CFX), he chose to focus on CFX—eventually stepping into the role of department lead. With the launch of Herne Hill (the newly relaunched MR. X), Dominik was given the opportunity by founder Dennis Berardi to build a new, unified Rigging & CFX department from the ground up. Today, his team is a mix of MR. X veterans and fresh talent, working together to develop flexible and robust workflows that support animators through high-quality rigs, as well as muscle, cloth, and hair simulations. Some of Dominik’s most memorable contributions include creating a two-headed snake and transforming werewolf for In the Lost Lands, the Gorgon and Hyde creatures in Wednesday Season 2, and a variety of hero birds and facial rigs across multiple shows. Most recently, his department played a key role in bringing Victor Frankenstein’s creations to life in Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming adaptation of Frankenstein. Dominik is proud of the trust placed in him by Dennis and the leadership team, and continues to look forward to new challenges, new creatures, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in Rigging and CFX.
