Ben King

Ben King is a VFX Supervisor with a strong foundation in both technical execution and artistic direction. He began his career creating visual effects for commercials, where he developed a broad skill set as a generalist before shifting his focus to lighting. Ben joined MR. X early in his career and quickly became a lead lighting artist on several major projects, including Resident Evil: The Final Chapter and Guillermo del Toro’s Academy Award–winning The Shape of Water. In pursuit of new challenges, Ben later joined the team at DNEG, another studio with a rich legacy of award-winning work where he expanded his experience across large-scale feature productions. Known for his ability to bridge the gap between technical and creative departments, Ben brings both precision and visual storytelling to every project he leads. His notable credits include The Shape of Water, Cabinet of Curiosities, The First Omen, and Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Ben holds a Bachelor of Information Technology from Carleton University and a post-graduate certificate in Visual Effects from Sheridan College.
