A Visual Effects Supervisor, Ayo blends a creative eye with a strong technical background. Ayo recently completed work on Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein as Herne Hill’s Visual Effects Supervisor where he supervised 930 shots in the film. Previously, he worked on Lee Daniel’s The Deliverance which included some on-set visual effects supervision where he oversaw around 330 shots. He first joined MR. X in 2008 and has worked on over 32 projects with the studio. Ayo worked as a Digital Effects Supervisor on Chupa (2023), Resident Evil (2002), Snake Eyes (2021), The Nevers (2021), Monster Hunter (2020), and Pompeii (2014). He has a strong background in look development, lighting and rendering and has contributed as an artist on projects including The Shape of Water (2017), Crimson Peak (2015), and Tron Legacy (2010). In 2015, Ayo received the Canadian Screen Award for Achievement in Visual Effects for his work as Digital Effects Supervisor on the film Pompeii. He was nominated for the same award in 2014 for his contributions to Mama, where he served as lead grooming and lighting artist for the film’s titular character. Ayo is a member of the Visual Effects Society and holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Queen’s University and a Diploma in Computer Animation from the International Academy of Design and Technology.
