Senior Lighting Artist

Job Description

MR. X is a creative production studio, complete with in-house Art, Creature, Editorial, and Visual Effects Departments. We collaborate with A-list directors, production teams, and filmmakers to develop projects from conception to completion. RESPONSIBILITIES

Create and design lighting for complex scenes.

Look development of assets, environments, and FX elements.

Work with supervisors, leads, and compositing team to ensure all elements reach the desired look.

Ability to self-troubleshoot renders.

Pre-composite shots in Nuke.

Ability to identify problematic shots that may affect delivery schedules and communicate concerns to leads and supervisors.

Ensure shot continuity.

Mentor and motivate fellow lighting artists to grow their craft using the latest techniques.

REQUIREMENTS

5+ years of Lighting experience in visual effects.

Training in computer science, game art or computer graphics.

Clear understanding of colour space, image-based lighting, shading and advanced rendering methodologies.

Strong Knowledge of Maya, and Nuke.

Strong understanding of rendering methods (Render Setup) & shading models.

Previous experience performing Look Development tasks.

Capacity to thrive in a results-driven pipeline

Ability to multitask, prioritize and problem solve

Good communication & interpersonal skills

Experience with a Windows and/or Linux OS environment

Desire to learn new technologies and design techniques

Unreal Engine experience a plus
